Made from HMPE (high-modulus polyethylene) fiber, EC Platinum Braid has a weight-to-strength ratio from 8 to 15 times stronger than steel. It is super strong, lightweight, and has minimal elongation. Our unique urethane coating enhances knot holding ability and adds to the product's UV and chemical resistance.

Great throwline

I highly recommend this throwline. The bright red color is easily visible in the canopy. It comes in a 425 foot spool. Cut in half, you get two 200 foot + throwlines, which are crucial when setting lines in tall tree's. zing it is only 180' per spool and more expensive. Capillary is easily spliceable for those who like a large eye splice at the ends...It runs nicely over thick bark, lightweight(12 or 14oz.bag) works perfectly.

I love this stuff. Slick and strong. Holds knots well (clove hitch with half hitches on climb line, slipped anchor bend on throw ball rings). Diameter is neither too large nor too small. The tight braid and amazing abrasion resistance are what really make this my favorite throw line. Stiff enough to stay in neat flakes. Lasts a good long time too. Excess dye bleeds off when new, making it look like your hands got cut up. Capillary for sure.
