“I bought these because my whites were getting chewed up from bark and I thought the steel shank would help when climbing. The support when in the gaff is nice, but on the ground the boots are a goofy fit for me and I could not perform other activities in them. The inside heel is turning into hamburger and they are not even a year old, my whites are 7 years old and don't have as much abrasion. But for support while climbing they are good. Also I had to buy a size big because the safety toe cramps your toes. This last one I don't know how to explain easily but lacing them up the upper part does not cinch tight unless I tuck my pants in and the bottoms have several inches of slack and my understanding is after break-in you want about 1 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch and I have like 3. But for nearly half the price of wesco's or whites I think they are worth the money for someone who doesn't climb every day. ”
