XTC Poseidon is Yale’s premium climbing line for professionals. The striking new Poseidon color is distinctive and easy to spot.
This line is specifically designed for the demanding needs of arborists, embodying the same characteristics of XTC ropes Yale has made for the last two decades. XTC Poseidon has the same great performance of XTC Fire or Plus, but it is not dyed the same bright colors, so you can get a great rope at a lower price. The tightly-woven 16-strand construction with a high twist core of torque-balanced polyester keeps the line firm and round, providing an extra measure of safety and performance. This Spliceable line is available in 1/2” diameter with an average breaking strength of 6,200 pounds.
Three colors available: Fire (red/yellow/orange), Plus (red/white), and Poseidon.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboriculutral operations.
Arborist climbing lines are required to have a minimum breaking strength of 5,400 lb (24 kN) when new, and should be no smaller than 1/2” (12.7mm) unless the employee has been trained in the use of smaller line (down to 7/16” / 11mm), and the line's working elongation should not exceed 7% at 540 lb load.
XTC Poseidon rope meets ANSI Z133-2012 standards.
The full ANSI Z133 safety requirements are available on our tree care standards page.
