Petzl Footcord
ASC177

The Petzl Footcord is an extremely compact and lightweight adjustable footstrap which is an ideal companion for the Ascension hand ascender. View image

Petzl's Ascension handled ascender is one of the most popular ascenders for rope climbing in the world. Newly redesigned to be lighter and an even better fit for the hand! The design is ergonomic with a cushioned, nicely-shaped handle which will help keep you from fatiguing even on a long SRT ascent. The upper part of the ascender is now curved to fit the hand to maximize power when pulling with two hands. The cam is easy to engage with the thumb, and the ascender has a hole above the cam where a small carabiner can be used to trap the rope and keep the cam engaged. The robust aluminum body provides ample grip, yet remains lightweight. Each ascender has a slot in the lower body for attaching footcords or tethers.
