Details

Samson's firm-bodied climbing rope with minimal stretch.

Mercury is a balanced non-rotational rope with a high tenacity solution dyed braided polyester cover over a heat-stabilized nylon core. Retains shape with use. Ideal for SRS, this is an all around excellent rappelling, rescue, and high-strength static ascent line.

Samson's Research and Development engineers spend a lot of time testing, playing, pushing the envelope, and coming up with some pretty cool stuff. One thing they learned was that a great hand feel doesn't just come from design and materials, but also in how the rope is manufactured. They found that making tweaks to the braiding machine itself gave the new Mercury Kernmantle rope a softer feel and even better strength! Additionally, the Mercury Kernmantle line went through a rigorous battery of lab and field testing to ensure Samson puts the best rope into your hands.

Mercury is available in two colors, making it ideal for use in rescue systems or simply for coordinating your gear.

Great SRS rope

by Nick

Great SRS line. It is stiff enough for an efficient ascent, but enough stretch to be comfortable on the knees. The sheath texture has a nice grip even in wet weather. Devices, ascenders, and hitches run very smooth. This is not a good rope for mixed or MRS climbing systems due to it's tendency to cable. I would buy another in the future.
