Climbing Helmets for Tree Climbers
One of the most important safety items for tree climbing is the climber's helmet and we have a wide selection of climbing helmets. We also stock a range of hard hats for use on the ground. Anyone working or climbing at heights must wear a climbing helmet and not a hard hat. Hard hats are designed to protect from objects falling from above only, and climbers face potential injury from the sides as well, making a climbing helmet designed to protect from side and back impact necessary. Today's climbing helmets are also designed to stay put in case of a fall, with adjustable suspension and chin straps. Without these, a hard hat is nearly useless in the tree if it falls off during an incident. We have several kits available with helmets which feature combined eye and ear protection.

The newly redesigned Petzl Vertex 2 helmets are our most popular choice for work at heights. The new Centerfit adjustment system with two adjustment knobs ensures optimal fit and stability by centering the head inside the shell. Compatible with Peltor ear muffs and Peltor wire mesh visor or clear plastic Petzl Vizir. The vent holes on the Vertex 2 Vent have shutters to adjust air flow. Shock absorption is achieved through deformation of the outer shell. Range of adjustability is 20.9” - 24.8”. Weighs 16 oz. Made in France.
Petzl Alveo Vent Helmet
The new Alveo Vent is Petzl's lightest weight and most ventilated helmet yet. It fits closer to the skull than the Vertex and is therefore more stable and less noticeable. The new Centerfit adjustment system with two adjustment knobs ensures optimal fit and stability by centering the head inside the shell. Compatible with Peltor ear muffs (SAF203 and SAF205) and Peltor wire mesh visor (SAF127) or clear plastic Petzl Vizir (SAF177). Vertex 2 Best
A popular choice for climbers who work in rainy climates or who don't want debris, critters, or other nuisances coming in through the vents in their helmet. Compatible with Vizir, Peltor ear muffs, and peltor face shield (with ear muffs or adapter.) The Vertex 2 Best meets ANSI Z89.1-2009 Type I Class E standards for electrical insulation. Weighs 16 oz. Stocked in Yellow, available in other colors by special order which normally ship in 5-7 days.

Kask Super Plasma Helmet
Kask Super Plasma helmets are feature a more more durable liner that resists breaking even under hard impacts, with the same great ventilation and compact stability of the original Plasma helmet. The Super Plasma helmet is lightweight, compact, comfortable, and well ventilated with 10 air vents. These vents are covered with aluminum grill that keeps out debris and insects, but lets air through. The Super Plasma helmet adjusts quickly with wheel at the back of the headband. This helmet is compatible with all standard earmuff and vizor add-ons, plus the popular Kask visors.
The outer shell is High Density ABS Plastic and designed to withstand significant impact from the above or side). The helmet's inner shell is made of High Density Polystyrene and has ducts that allow natural air flow and heat recycling. Washable, replaceable inner padding and liner.
