The Vertex Vent full helmet kit has great hearing protection and a face shield/visor sealer combo to keep chips out of your face. Both face shield and ear muffs can be raised up and out of the way when not needed, and easily deployed when you want them. This is a very popular kit, as it provides great protection all in one package.
The Peltor face shield meets basic impact requirements of ANSI 187.z and should not be used for protection from high-impact exposures. For chips and light debris, it's perfect
The Peltor ear muffs are rated at 27 NRR (noise reduction rating) and they are hard-shelled and filled with dense foam. The fit is quite comfortable. Sanitation kits are available so that you can replace the foam after extended use without having to replace the ear muffs.
The Vertex Vent is our most popular tree climbing helmet. This helmet meets safety requirements outlined in the ANSI Z133 standards for arboriculture operations and provides protection and comfort at the same time. The Vent features 4 point suspension which is completely adjustable; not only can the chin strap be adjusted in length and the fit of the helmet adjusted by the wheel at the back, but the suspension has two height positions allowing you to adjust how far the Vent helmet sits above your head.
The Vent is a very popular helmet among tree climbers because of the closeable vents. The vents simply slide up to the closed position, and down to open the helmet up. This means that the Vertex helmet can be opened up for ventilation on hot days and closed for rainy weather, or trees where you don't want debris, water, or insects getting in through the holes in the helmet.
