Wire-core fliplines are made with braided arborist rope over steel cable. This gives a Wire-core flipline extra rigidity, making it easier to flip up the tree - especially on larger stems. A running chainsaw will easily sever a Wire-core flipline; and they should not be considered chainsaw-proof. Caution must always be used in the tree.
Wire-core fliplines are available in diameters from 7/16" to 3/4". Larger diameters can be easier to grip but also add to the weight and bulk of your climbing kit.
Yale Wire-core fliplines in 1/2” diameter offer the great construction of Yale Maxi-flip fliplines but in a smaller, lighter package.

They also come with a new style of aluminum snap made by ISC, which shaves weight without being harder to open. The Sport has the same great Flemish eye-splice in the 7/32” cable that prevents flex fatigue and extends life over to other fliplines swaged (crimped) eyes.

“ Yale makes a great quality flip-line that allows me to not worry about a crimp coming apart, since it relies on the Flemish eye splice. There have been a few occasions where it was awkward to clip into the side D ring on my harness because there is no swivel on the rope clip. overall great product. ”
