This rope is an excellent balance of high strength (6,500 lb. spliced) and low weight (7.7 lb. per 100 ft.). ArborMaster® is a 16-strand, single-braid, 1/2” diameter rope. ArborMaster® works well with friction hitches such as the Tautline and Blake’s hitch, and is supple and handles well for all manner of arborist's knots. Samson ArborMaster® is made from polyester with a nylon core and is highly resistant to abrasion with very low stretch
ArborMaster® comes in colors: blue/white, red/black/white, green/grey, and the blue/yellow “Bigfoot” pattern.

The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has released the ANSI Z133 safety requirements which apply to arboricultural operations.
Arborist Climbing Ropes are required to have a minimum breaking strength of 5,400 lb (24 kN) when new, and should be no smaller than 1/2” (12.7mm) unless the employee has been trained in the use of smaller line (down to 7/16” / 11mm), and the line's working elongation should not exceed 7% at 540 lb load.
