Rope safety device for ropes 11.2–13 mm (0.44–0.51 in), certified for two-person rescue, EN 12841-B/C.
The BlackBird by ART was developed for climbing on both single rope (SRT) and moving double rope (DRT) systems. It allows switching between both techniques without additional adjustments or tools, and without removing the rope from the device. The design ensures identical descent behavior in both SRT and DRT configurations.
- Fully opens via a push button for mid-rope installation without detaching from the harness.
- Integrated swivel keeps the device aligned; upper carabiner attachment faces away from the user for smooth rope feed.
- Upper attachment point supports V-rigs and 3:1 or 4:1 pulley systems.
- Ball-bearing redirect pulley enables smooth operation even with poor rope angles.
- Rotatable cam on the friction booster for individual adjustments.
- Carabiner eyelet for connecting to a chest harness to carry the device during ascent.
- Certified for two-person rescue on both SRT and DRT.
- All wear parts are interchangeable.
- Includes two cam options for different rope diameters.
