Buck Ring & Ring Friction Saver
Buckingham ring and ring friction savers save wear and tear on your climbing line and protect the tree at the same time. By installing a friction saver, the climber can create a 'false crotch' and run the climbing line through the rings on the friction saver instead of over a natural crotch in the tree.
These ring and ring friction savers can be set and retrieved from the ground using a throw line and throw ball (see the technical tab for instructions). Thick layers of webbing provide great durability and an impressive 5,000 lb. tensile strength. Buckingham makes both aluminum ring and steel ring models (steel rings are a bit heavier, but they tend to dissipate heat better and are less abrasive aluminum).
Friction savers are available from 2' to 6' lengths to cover a wide range of branches, and a long friction saver can be made adjustable in length by using Buckingham's friction saver prusik.
