Protos Communication System
Built-in Bluetooth wireless technology lets up to four BT-COM units connect together for continuous intercom communication between four operators.
Ease of Use
The Protos BT-COM capsule snaps directly into the existing Protos ear defender bracket. No wiring, drilling, or clamps are needed to mount it to your Protos helmet. All BT-COM components are contained inside the ear defender capsule. With no external cables or connectors, comfort is maximized and snagging risk is eliminated. A single multifunction button and two volume buttons make one-finger operation simple.
Range is up to 300 metres (clear site), with battery life up to 12 hours. The unit easily lasts through a full workday. Charging is done via USB using the Protos charging bracket. Full charge time is approximately 1.5 hours, and standby time lasts several days.
4 User Bluetooth Communication System and Phone Compatibility
Up to four BT-COM units can link together for uninterrupted intercom communication. Each unit can also connect to a mobile phone via Bluetooth at the same time. Incoming calls can be answered hands-free with the multifunction button, without taking the phone out of a pocket. Outgoing calls placed from the phone automatically transfer to hands-free audio through the BT-COM. A conference function allows an additional participant to join, extending communication range wherever mobile network coverage is available.
The Protos microphone reduces background noise by up to 20 dB while keeping voices clear and understandable. Background sounds remain audible so external hazards can still be recognized.
Bluetooth ensures interference-free communication in areas with strong radio frequencies, and operation does not require any licence fees.
