SMC Jake Twist-Lock

The Force series Jake HMS Carabiner makes a superb belay/rappel carabiner because of its broad (and rounded) rope bearing surface. This friction interface makes both rappelling and lowering exceptionally smooth and predictable. The Jake is equipped with a side-swing gate that provides sizable clearance.

This carabiner does NOT meet ANSI Z133 guidelines for auto-locking carabiners.
