Identifying Hazard Trees - The goal of this guide is to familiarize the worker with hazards at the tree job site. It can be used by climbers to assist in identifying hazards, in the process of determining if a tree is too risky to climb.

PPE Selection, Use, and Care - information on the required personal protective equipment (PPE) arborists in all areas require for safe tree work. It is the goal of TCIA that this book helps arborists make informed PPE selections and for crew leaders to outfit their crews.

Preventing Electrocution - covers the identification of electrical hazards and proper work procedures to avoid them. Applies to tree climbers, aerial lift or equipment operators, and ground workers that are not qualified line-clearance arborists.

Preventing Falls - covers climbers and ladders, but does not address bucket truck/aerial lift use. Opening with a breakdown of fatal and non-fatal falls in tree care and their causes, the guide then moves on to selecting and maintaining gear. Techniques to prevent falls while climbing, cutting, and using ladders are covered.

Preventing Struck Bys - aims to increase awareness of 'struck-bys. Covers awareness of landing zones and vocal communication, and moves on to discuss safety in tree rigging.

Safe Tree Felling - covers common risks and steps to assess, prepare, and perform the tree felling. Felling techniques and potential hazards, as well as complications from lean, wind, multiple stems, and decay are covered. A handy guide for tailgate meetings and training.
