Prepper Foot Lock Prusik
by Evan
I ordered 9’ of this cord and tied a captive double fisherman prusik loop, like Jeff Jepson’s book taught me. Mine is choked around a small rigging ring to provide a clean place to clip the 8 descender, and it doubles as a ring & ring friction saver (girth the 8 descender as the big ring), secret weapon, etc. It’s a great diameter for nearly universal use on classic and modern arborist ropes, as hitch cord should be slightly smaller than the rope it grabs. The loop is handy and I keep it around for improvisation, rescue, or old-school git up there kind of day.
