Popular 24-strand rope that maintains firm, round shape but remains flexible.

Tachyon features improved grip and reduced hand fatigue, and will run well in hardware designed for 11mm ropes. Revolutionary Flexifirm Core Technology results in a lightweight 11.5mm climbing line that stays firm and round while permitting spliced eyes in one or both ends of the line using a double braid splice. The product's firm yet flexible design and superior strand definition significantly improve friction hitch performance without the "bagginess" that can occur with other 11mm ropes.

Good rope

by Samantha

This stuff is nice rope. It doesn't milk much. I find myself favoring this line on srt removals where I am using a foot ascender on my gaffs. It takes ascender use well and runs great on a rope wrench.

Jack of all trades

I absolutely love this rope. I have put it through the paces. I do both rope access and tree work, and I've put this thing through every situation possible. Knots tie well, holds up great, it's really fells light, and works well literally with any device I put it in. I would recommend for sure. Every time I need a rope I find myself buying this one.

Great value, high quality

by JEFF

Been using the Ash version in a DDRT setup for about 6 climbs the last couple weeks, and I really like this rope. I use a Hitch climber with a Bail Out XL eye and eye Prusik. The hitch cord grips the Tachyon well. Utilize a 5 wrap Michoacan, and am probably well shy of 220# geared up. Four wraps yields a little too much slip for my taste as the Tachyon is bit slippery yet.. Have not tested it wet. On descent the 5 wrap is obviously too much but I like that control and instant stop up in the canopy. I mostly use a friction saver, but the few times I was forced to go directly over limb the Tachyon has notably less friction than a 16 strand polyester I also use. The Tachyon has held up well to my Petzl foot ascender. I've seen no milking or fraying of the sheath (is that the kern or the mantle? I forget). About the only minor concern I can muster about Tachyon is the lowish breaking strength compared to other ropes in its category and diameter.
