Professional's MRS Rope Climbing Kit

We built this kit for the beginning tree care professional with all the tools you need to work the tree on with a Moving Rope System. The gear is selected for durability, quality, and function, to stand up to daily use. This one-click collection gets you a complete spur climbing and rope climbing setup that you can build on as your career advances. Add PPE and a handsaw, and you're ready to get to work.

What You Get

The Tree Climbing Harness is the biggest single factor in your comfort while working the tree. This kit gives you two top choices:

The Buckcraft, Buckingham's lightest tree climbing harness to date. The Buckcraft has exceptional comfort with supportive leg pads, a compression-molded back pad, and durable TNX outer shell. Friction buckles on legs and waist strap let you adjust for a perfect fit, while quick-connect buckles make it quick to put on and take off. A dual rope bridge with aluminum ring gives you multiple connection options, and the Buckcraft has plenty of gear loops, rings, and attachment points for suspenders (sold separately).

The Sequoia, Petzl's top of the line tree work harness. A top-tier, professional-grade tree climbing harness, the Sequoia is lightweight and highly supportive. It features an extra-wide, semi-rigid waistbelt and leg loops with FAST automatic buckles for easy operation. Features both a rope bridge and gated attachment points, so you have options for attaching lanyards and climbing ropes. Integrated loops and retainers help organize tools like the CARITOOL or first aid kit.

The No Harness option is there if you already have a tree climbing harness, or will purchase one separately. Be sure to choose 'N/A' for the size when choosing this option.

Other harnesses can be substituted upon request.

Your Moving Rope System in this kit is built around the versatile Blue Moon 11.7mm climbing rope from Yale. Blue Moon works great with tied hitches or mechanical devices. Your rope comes with a hand-spliced eye, no need to tie attachment knots. Bail Out XL prusik cord works great with this size rope, and the Phlotich pulley advances your hitch with great efficiency and ease. You can use this system to ascend the tree, work the tree, and descend. It will can provide the second point of contact when cutting on your spurs and flipline.

The 16-strand Flipline included is a durable, easy-to handle rope lanyard. A eye to eye prusik lets you adjust length easily with the included Prusik Tending Pulley. This rope lanyard setup can be used as a the second point of connection when cutting in the tree, or simply for better work positioning and stability.

Your Throw Line Setup uses the popular Samson Zing-It throw line in blue - making it easy to see in all colors of foliage. Two throw weights are included, a 10oz and 12oz, and the Herbol friction saver will protect your rope and the tree while you climb.

The Carabiners used throughout the kit are top-quality and made in the USA by Rock Exotica. The two oval-shaped RockO carabiners are for use in your Moving Rope System. The symmetrical shape keeps your setup vertically aligned. The Pirate carabiner is an HMS (pear) shape, which is ideal for connecting your flipline adjuster. Both styles of carabiner feature the standard Rock Exotica pull-down gate, which is easier to open one-handed or with gloves.

Gear Storage for your kit is provided by a WesSpur folding throw line cube, medium rope bag, and large gear bag. All of your gear will be organized and ready to take to the job site.

The Tree Climber's Companion, 3rd Edition gives you a handy reference and manual for tying knots, performing a pre-climb inspection, entering the tree, and much more.

It is the user's responsibility to gain adequate instruction in the use of all climbing equipment. Professional training is recommended.
